[Visiting] Cite du vin

25.Jan.2017

Around 6 months since the first wine museum in Bordeaux was opened
eventually I visited "Cite du vin".

"Cite du vin" is kind of symbolic place in Bordeaux.
When I arrived in Bordeaux, the city was already clean and quite nice,
however, Bordeaux was not really developed or touristic city in the past.
During several years of effort, today,
Bordeaux became the best touristic city (2015/2016, I guess).

And "Cite du vin" is one of the landmark in Bordeaux.

Cite du vin(Bordeaux wine museum) is located next to Garonne river near the tram station "Cite du vin"(Line B).

From the tram station, it takes around 3 minutes.

The shape of building is quite new/futuristic/amazing.

It looks like the wine when you pour wine in the glass.
If the colour was also similar to red wine, It would be looked like monster...
(Fortunately, there is White wine as well!!!)

For me, it looks like a snake.

The wine museum consist of 7-8 floors.
On the ground floor, there are an art shop and wine cave,
On the first floor, there are library and seminar rooms.
There is permanent exhibition. It is divided to several sections, for example: history, world, production, Bordeaux, and tasting etc..

One of the most impressive one was this audio machine.
It looks like iphone, you can put the sensor of the machine on the white part.
Then automatically the machine connects to relevant contents.
It was so so so nice!

The history section was my favorite part.
Each part, there were small model boxes.
Above, it shows the period of Egypt.

I don't know well, but this system would be 'hologram'.
In the box, there was a stage, and you can see actors and actresses.
There are light, mirror and little presenter machine.
I really want to know the principle to make this box.
It was really amazing.

Beautiful (famous) Chateaux in Bordeaux.

I have ever visited Chateau maucaillou, Margaux (just in front), cantegnac brown and lasnessan!
wow!

This section shows the information of different types of wines: still wine, sparkling wine, rose wine etc...

Bordeaux section was also so so so so so interesting.
There are some chessman which seems like a famous person in the history.
You put your chessman on the map, you can see the real picture or 3D remodeling picture of the past Bordeaux.
Bordeaux! ma ville!!!!!

At this part, you can smell diverse aromas which you can find in wine.
It was also so so so so interesting.
Because of this part, I would like to buy membership ticket of cite du vin..
OMG..

This part shows the different table style depends on the era.
There were several chairs in front of the tables, and on some chairs there are video of professionals. You can take a seat and listen to them as if you're with them.

They spoke French(? I don't remember anymore.. English or French?),
anyway it was not my mother language, so I didn't listen well. LOL

In the museum, there are all the modern new technologies.
I was really surprised.
It was really well-made!!!!

On the 7th floor, it is restaurant.

The 8th floor is tasting room.
You can taste only one wine as seeing the beautiful view of Bordeaux city.

I tasted Belgium wine.
It was also very interesting.

There are diverse wines from different countries.

Bordeaux, Ma ville!

another interesting wine from Croatia.
I have to visit the country one day.
